Production Process of Solomon Mahogany

Regardless of effort, as much as one year is spent to getting these products to market.

Solomon Mahogany is widely used as high-grade furniture timber because of its dignified texture and excellent durability. H.R.D.(S) uses it for interiors and it produces exceptional aroma in such spaces. However, having the characteristics of being very hard and not easily dried , Solomon Mahogany requires sophisticated manufacturing skills. It takes about one year, passing through many hands to make a product from the wood. Nonetheless, we fell in love with its beautiful expressions of grain and developed our own technology and system to bring out its attractiveness.

The raw wood (logs) of Solomon Mahogany delivered from its land of origin is stored in our huge yard. As it is difficult to dry them up, we spend more than half a year from stocking to do sun drying and kiln drying and then cure them for a sufficient period. Then we start processing them. First we examine each log for its quality, grain and color and so on, and select them according to the most suitable color to be applied. Then many skilled craftsmen work on polishing the wooden surface, which determines the finish of coating, in order to represent the distinctive beauty of Solomon Mahogany. This is followed by UV coating that goes through multiple steps including coloring, color sealing, mid coating and finish. Finally the Mahogany is separately packed and delivered to our customers.
